Thank you for your interest in Michael Lake Equestrian Centre.

MLEC is a 100 acre facility that is situated along the edge of Michael Lake.   Our large indoor arena with a width of 100ft is excellent for jumper training.  We are planning to extend our existing outdoor mulch ring (with a wonderful view over Michael Lake to Mount Benson), to a full size 20mx60m dressage arena.

The property is a blend of forest and open field.  The open field hosts our cross country course, which is open in the summer months for island XC Coaches to bring their students to train over beginner to preliminary level obstacles.

Joanne Uhrig, our dressage coach, manages the Co-operative Boarding at MLEC.  All Boarders must be in our lesson program and have full use of the indoor & outdoor arenas as well as in the summer months access to the entire property of open fields and forested areas for trail riding.  Also available is Full Care Option.

Turn onto Cedar Road Exit –SOUTH of the Nanaimo Airport
Turn Right onto Yellowpoint Road
After “McNab’s Farm” & at the crest of the hill, turn Right on Doole Road.
